Under The Gun Is the first single from the album 'A Song Of Bones'. It will be released as a charity single on the 19th of June, 'World Sickle Cell Day', to raise money for the Sickle Cell Society, a foundation dedicated to raising awareness of sickle cell anaemia and offering support to sufferers.
Corona Virus has made it difficult for charities who depend on donations to do their work. This single is a small step towards helping a cause that will offer support to the estimated 15,000 sufferers in the UK.
The Sickle Cell Society is the only national charity in the UK that supports and represents people affected by a sickle cell disorder to improve their overall quality of life. First set up as a registered charity in 1979, the Sickle Cell Society has been working alongside health care professionals, parents, and people living with sickle cell to raise awareness of the disorder. The society's aim is to support those living with sickle cell, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
All money from the sale of the single will go to the Sickle Cell Society except for 15% which goes to Bandcamp and 2.9% which goes to Paypal.
lyrics
Under The Gun
My oh my what a wonderful place to be
And to find myself in such good company
Mothers and fathers
Daughters and sons
We are not strangers
We’re family
Yes we are
One and the same
It’s red blood that runs through our veins
No matter what may come
Any storm we’ll weather because
We will stand as one
We’re birds of a feather
For those not born and for them that have gone
We’ll stand together under the gun
My oh my what a wonderful place to be
And to find myself in such good company
Mothers and fathers
Daughters and sons
We are not strangers
We’re family
Yes we are
One and the same
It’s red blood that runs through our veins
No matter what may come
Any storm we’ll weather because
We will stand as one
We’re birds of a feather
For those not born and for them that have gone
We’ll stand together under the gun
We are one and the same
It’s red blood that runs through our veins
No matter what may come
Any storm we’ll weather because
We will stand as one
We’re birds of a feather
For those not born and for them that have gone
We’ll stand together under the gun
